Cheyenne is an owner relinquishment who joined us in March of 2015. She was extremely thin and malnourished. Both her and her daughter were released into our care, but the owner refused to relinquish her grandson who would later be rescued by a concerned citizen. He was wrapped in barbed wire, brutally maimed, and the owner was walking across the pasture with a shotgun. Luckily, he was saved in the nick of time by the kindness of strangers and later placed, with the help of our network, in his forever home.
A barn favorite due to her gentle and loving nature, Chey is a therapy horse who suffers from severe arthritis in her hips, which we manage through chiropractic care and veterinary medicine. She is a Tennessee Walker and approximately 15.1 hands. She is a testament to the persistence of spirit and the ability to love and trust in the face of cruelty.
Chey hopes you'll come visit her and bring her lots of peppermints. She is also in need of a sponsor and hopes that you'll donate to her or other horses care so that HHHR can continue to save the lives of more equines.
